Ombre hair ♥

My ombre hair

Ombre hair was made famous by people like Miley Cyrus and Drew Barrymore. Ombre hair is where the roots of the hair are darker than the tips.
How to get it...
I'm going to be honest with you, I'm not entirely sure on the proper way to get it done, but I'll happily tell you the way I did it. My hair is a pretty dark brown and I was stupid enough to believe that using blond hair dye would be enough.. Wrong. I tried a couple of brands and they made no colour change what so ever to my hair, so I decided to use bleach. This isn't for everyone - it is permanent (doesn't fade at all! If the ombre doesn't turn out how you hoped, it can be really hard to fix because your hair is different colours), it can also damage your hair (I got pretty bad split ends) and finally the first time you bleach it, it often goes the wrong colour. When I first bleached it, my hair went a ginger-ish brown and people didn't notice any difference. So, I had to bleach it again. In total, I've bleached it about 5 times using Jerome Russell BBlonde, which was great. The only criticism I have of it, is how much it fried my hair!! Seriously, I had to use so much colour protect conditioner, and wash my hair every day. After about a week it settled down, but I still used conditioner on the ends of my hair each time I showered.
So anyway, I put thechocolate brown hair like mine, I would recommend about 30 minutes each time.
Overall, I love my dip dye and can't see me getting rid of it in the near future, however there are some downsides
Disadvantages
1. It can ruin some hair styles - For example, if I wear my hair in a bun, the bun is a different colour to my actual hair!
2. It fries your hair. Be prepared to spend a lot of money on good quality conditioners and take extra care when using heat on your hair (I used Charles Worthington's heat proctectant)
3. It can be hard to get rid of, like I explained further up.
4. Everyone wants it. Literally, I came to school and everyone was saying how they were going to get it done. Sure that's ok if you don't mind looking the same as everyone else.
5. It only works (IMO) with certain types of hair. Here's my idea of the ideal - Long, slightly textured hair. But, I think it can work on either dark blonde or brown. If you have really straight hair I think it can look a bit silly, especially if a bit goes wrong. You don't want to have to curl it every day, it takes so long!!
Anyway guys, hope this helped :)
